Description

To encourage the use of land for forest management and agricultural production, the state of Vermont adopted a policy in 1978 that allows farmers and foresters to enroll land in the Use Value Appraisal Program or Current Use Program. Enrolled land is taxed at "use value" rather than fair market value. This course will describe options regarding Current Use eligibility, responsibilities of enrollees, potential penalties for non-compliance, and the many benefits of Current Use enrollment for property buyers and sellers. Eligible for 2 REALTOR CE Credits.
