Lunch and Learn: Flood Insurance - Is it really necessary?

Tuesday, July 16, 2024 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

This Lunch and Learn will provide a general overview of the flood insurance marketplace that consumers in the United States currently face. Instructors will present a review of coverages offered through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and private flood insurance carriers. The session will highlight differences in risk needs across all major flood zones, variations in the definition of what constitutes a flood, and coverages available throughout the marketplace. A case study is provided which places the course content in context through an examination of losses incurred during a major flood event experienced in Vermont in July 2023.
